I can't find them. I need them for visual reference. All right, so there was one in one of the And Shine Heaven Now comics, but I am NOT looking through all of them to find it. >.<

If anyone has a character height chart, might I have it? Please? Or at least a link to it?

Thanks much!

I don't know where you can find one, but I'll be looking.

In the meantime, I can tell you that I know that Alucard is 198 cm (which I learned from the notes Hirano made around one of his drawings of Alucard), and that Integra is about 190 cm (which I learned from Intensity, an Integra web-shrine).
21st-Apr-2007 04:09 pm (UTC)

Uhm . . . 198cm is about 6'6". 190cm is about 6'3".

That's really frikkin' tall.

I need to know she and Anderson's relative heights . . . he looks about Alucard's height, but the manga pics of them together make it seem like he's more than 3 inches taller than her. Then again, in both of them she's backed against the wall and sort of slouching. Hmm.

Thank you for keeping an eye out for me! *hug*

Anderson, according to Hirano, is "just over seven feet tall".
21st-Apr-2007 04:07 pm (UTC)
Not sure, but Alex is around 205 cm and I calculated that Enrico is around 185/190 cm....

But I have no idea....
21st-Apr-2007 04:10 pm (UTC)
Ps. I love your icon XD
21st-Apr-2007 04:14 pm (UTC)
205cm is 6'9" . . . that would put her at shoulder-height, correct?

And thanks. I stole it from a friend. ^_^

The accurate artistic rule for reckoning proportional height of a figure is by 'heads'--I think it's six but I'm not sure. Comic artists often tend to draw their characters as abnormaly tall, giving them a head or more extra. It's something that goes way back to the days of heroic statuary. (Heroes were always supposed to be tall--even though, like Alexander and Napoleon, they were often quite short.) Needless to say, this can distort any 'real' evaluation of heights. Hirano makes things worse be varying heights with his usual visual inconsistency. (I guess everybody looks tall to somebody that short.) The most powerful Hellsing vampires, of course, seem to be able to vary their height at will. Alucard certainly can, and Seras seems to get taller when she has to fight Guensche.

My own estimates:
Millennium, in order of height, from tallest to shortest:
1. Guensche 2. Zorin 3. Doc 4. Alhambra 5. Luke Valentine 6. Jan Valentine Rip 7. Schroedinger 8. Fat Boy

1. Alucard (of course) 2. Walter 3. Integra 4. The girl with the big rack

1. Anderson 2. Maxwell 3. Renaldo (who?) 4. Heinkel 5. Yumie/Yumiko (Yumiko is shorter than Yumie, it seems.)

Although it' important to note?

Doc slouches like a motherfucker. And his knees are bent most of the time that we see him.

I've got a feeling that if he stood up straight? He'd be taller than the Cap.
21st-Apr-2007 05:17 pm (UTC)
You forgot Pip. He seems taller than Walter.
21st-Apr-2007 08:44 pm (UTC)
Dok is taller than Zorin, and sometimes even appears taller than Captain. He's just... slouchy.

......I see Pat already pointed this out.
21st-Apr-2007 11:40 pm (UTC)
In the OVA Dok looks tall as Captain O_o
21st-Apr-2007 05:00 pm (UTC)
Was'nt there an character sheet in the extra material on Hellsing TV series vol 2? In that production interview? Most of the characters where present (from the TV series) and even Pip.

Wow i was suprised to see that pic of Jan without a hat, that was scary and disturbing to see. XD
21st-Apr-2007 07:53 pm (UTC)
Wow, that disturbed me too. Oddly enough, that's almost what my Jan cosplay wig looks like without the hat over it... so I guess that means I got it right. :D
21st-Apr-2007 06:34 pm (UTC)
yup. it says its a protected entry. v_v
21st-Apr-2007 06:41 pm (UTC)

22nd-Apr-2007 12:45 am (UTC)
Yay! Thank you! ^___^

Oaky, so Anderson and Alucard are about the same height, and Integra's shoulder-height on them. At least, for the OVA she is.

*hug* Thank you sooooo much! ^_^
21st-Apr-2007 08:16 pm (UTC)
according to that, ALucard is 6'11....

THATS tall...and Anderson is 6'9 (or someihtng like that)

Thats crazy height XP but it's possible
21st-Apr-2007 08:46 pm (UTC)
Alucard is so cheating with his hat.
21st-Apr-2007 11:01 pm (UTC)

22nd-Apr-2007 12:50 am (UTC)
That's for the anime. Hmm.

All right, I was thinking she was between that height and shoulder height. Thank you soooo much! *hug*

I think I'll just make her as tall as I want. Behold, the power of the author! Bwuahahahaha, and all that. ^_^
21st-Apr-2007 10:03 pm (UTC)
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket somebody posted this pic in the community a while back, they said they bought it and a few other ref sheets from the creators of the OVA o_o

Hope this helps settle things out.

Is it me? Or does Walter seem a little out of place? He looks a little small compared to everyone else for some reason. They could all learn to stop being so tall though. They make me feel short! D:

Anyway, thanks for posting this!
22nd-Apr-2007 12:48 am (UTC)
Walter actually looks fine to me @_@ It's hard for me to think of him being a whole lot taller than Integra, and it suits him to be that much shorter than Alucard, in my opinion... :B

No problem, I found the pic in my folders by pure coincidence
21st-Apr-2007 10:26 pm (UTC)
The only thing that comes to mind is that scene from volume 3 when alucard is leaving the hotel and is passing the "policia" squad... and he towers over them. I personally thought that he was about 6'10" but I know for sure that Integra is 190 cm from Intensity.

Ps the notes on the captain in the same volume refer to him as a "tallll shifty roughneck with a mauser in one hand" so I personally always thought of him as the tallest of the bunch....
21st-Apr-2007 10:38 pm (UTC)
Integral's 190 in the tv series. She seems around 178 or less in the OVA. Who knows in the Manga.
22nd-Apr-2007 04:43 am (UTC)
So she's about 5'10 in the OVA... how the hell tall is Seras supposed to be? I always thought she was super-tiny (like 5' even) but all this makes me think otherwise... maybe I'm too -short- to be Seras, haha...
8th-Jan-2008 04:45 pm (UTC)
Nooo, I want her to be about 5' as well XD I am 5'05 and she is my favourite character to cosplay!!
22nd-Apr-2007 07:30 pm (UTC)
Tell me if I've got this right...

This is what I've gotten so far~

Alucard: 198cm (6'7)
Integra: 178cm (5'11) (I'm going with this one because if Alucard is 6'7, Integra could NOT be 6'4)
Seras: 5'5 (The top of Seras' head is at Integra's eye level, which I'm guessing is about 5")
Walter: 6' (Walter looks just a little bit taller than Integra)
Anderson: 205cm (6'10)
Maxwell: 185-190cm (6'2-6'4)

...I'm 5'6...All the Hellsing peoples would tower over me....;_; (except for Seras)
23rd-Apr-2007 03:49 am (UTC)
I have these from the TV anime:

23rd-Apr-2007 06:57 am (UTC)
Thank you!

Yup, they're all gi-normous.

So now we need a Hellsing basketbal team fanart. *giggle*
23rd-Apr-2007 06:00 pm (UTC)
ah! thannks for this!!! So, Seras is 173 cm tall!! wow!!! she's very tall!! O_o; and Integra's 180 cm....
24th-Apr-2007 02:18 am (UTC)
Dude...I would be a midget if I was in Hellsing.
29th-Jun-2007 11:10 pm (UTC)
Okay, from that I notice (despite that Pip was in the character sheet for the TV series, shocking :P), but that Luke is about the same height as Alucard. So does that mean whatever various height Alucard is, it also applies to Luke?
1st-Jul-2007 07:25 am (UTC)
No; it means that the height of Alucard's normal design is the same as the height of Luke's design. These are references from the artists, not character information sheets ^_^

And, yeah, Pip - and the Millennium folks - were there in the design stages, before they'd settled on how to end the plot (since only three manga volumes existed at the time).
